Conor Benn has weighed in for his showdown against Chris Eubank Jr. this weekend.
The conversation on the highly anticipated grudge match, set for Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, has been commanded by the fight’s contracted weight. Natural welterweight Benn is moving up two weight divisions to face middleweight Eubank Jr at 160lbs.
This significant jump has drawn sharp criticism, most notably from Eubank Jr’s own father, Chris Eubank Sr, who has voiced serious concerns about the potential dangers for the smaller Benn – though he has fought twice at 154 – as well as criticising the 10lbs rehydration clause that will hinder his son.
Benn took to the scales at 156.4lbs, significantly under the limit and seemingly giving strong advantage to Eubank who, by the time of the first bell, will be in the 170s. With a number like that on weigh-in day, Benn – whose team will say that this weight allows him to keep his speed and stamina – is not expected to add on much, if anything.
‼️ Conor Benn makes weight for the Chris Eubank Jr fight at 156.4lbs (ceremonial weigh-in to follow later).

As of writing, Eubank had not yet taken to the scales.
At the final press conference, Benn told Eubank that the fight will be over inside two rounds. Eubank has maintained that he does everything better than his younger rival, and has vowed to ‘rid him from the sport’ for his past doping controversy that saw their first scheduled bout canned back in 2022.
The pair will face off one final time at this evening’s ceremonial weigh in.
