Former pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford has sensationally accused Jake Paul of scripting one of his recent professional fights.
Paul has had a controversial professional boxing career since he made his debut back in 2020, but the 29-year-old from Ohio believes he has what it takes to become a legitimate world champion in the near future.
‘The Problem Child’ was last in action back in December when he suffered a brutal sixth round stoppage defeat to two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
Prior to his showdown with ‘AJ’, Paul outpointed legendary heavyweight Mike Tyson over eight rounds, a bout that many believe should have never been sanctioned to take place.
Speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience, Crawford sensationally claimed that he believes Paul’s clash with Tyson was scripted, a theory that has been debated by the majority of the boxing community.
“I think [Paul vs Tyson] was scripted. I ain’t never seen Tyson biting his gloves and like, it was taking all that he could not to hit him. It’s heartbreaking to see an icon go like that. He shouldn’t have been in there at all. There’s other ways [to make money].”
Tyson was clearly a shadow of his once formidable self when he faced Paul back in November of 2024, with many expressing their disappointment at seeing the former undisputed heavyweight champion at the forefront of the spectacle in Texas.
‘Iron Mike’ is expected to make a return to the ring this year, with reports suggesting that the 59-year-old will face Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition contest.
