Terence Crawford has revealed exactly when and where he will be fighting Canelo Alvarez.

Crawford will make an ambitious jump up in weight later this year when he moves up two divisions to challenge Canelo for his undisputed super-middleweight titles.

For the majority of his career, Crawford has campaigned at 147lbs, but did step up to 154lbs for his last contest when he defeated Israil Madrimov to win the WBA super-welterweight title in Los Angeles last August.

‘Bud’ will become a five-weight world champion if he is able to defeat Canelo, and a victory would also see him become the first male fighter in history to be a three-weight undisputed champion.

Canelo once again became the sole ruler of the super-middleweight division when he defeated IBF champion William Scull in May to add that belt to his WBC, WBA and WBO collection.

Immediately after that bout the fight against Crawford was officially confirmed, and was initially announced to take place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Friday September 12.

There has been a lot of change since that first announcement though, with the date pushed back 24 hours to the Saturday, while the location was also up for debate, with New York and Los Angeles reported to have been under consideration.

Crawford has now revealed the date and location for the fight in a video by Jai McAllister, where he confirmed it will be remaining in the fight capital of the world on the Saturday.

“The fight will be in Las Vegas, Nevada. September 13th.”

‘Bud’ is seen as the underdog in the fight against Canelo, but that hasn’t stopped former three-weight world champion James Toney from backing his countryman to come out on top.
