Terence Crawford Didn’t Hesitate When Asked If He’s Targeting Floyd Mayweather’s 50-0 Record

Terence Crawford is over 40 fights into an exceptional professional career.

The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska entered the professional ranks back in 2008 and since then has developed into a pound-for-pound superstar that has taken the sport by storm in recent years.

He is one of the very few fighters in boxing history to win an undisputed championship in multiple weight classes, having achieved this feat at super-lightweight and welterweight respectively.

Crawford is just a few months away from his monumental showdown with Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez, as he bids to become the first male fighter of all time to achieve undisputed status in three divisions.

His highly anticipated ‘mega-fight’ against Canelo takes place on Saturday September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and will be the 37-year-old’s super-middleweight debut as he sets his sights on dethroning the Mexican of his undisputed titles at 168lbs.

Whilst speaking to Fight Hype, Crawford, who is currently 41-0, was asked if he is targeting breaking the unbeaten record of retired pound-for-pound star Floyd Mayweather Jr, who defeated each of the 50 opponents he faced during his tenure.

“Not at all, not at all.”

Mayweather is often regarded as being one of, if not the greatest fighter to have ever laced up the gloves.

Throughout the course of his accomplished career, ‘Money’ won world titles in five weight classes, defeating the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao amongst many others.

He announced his retirement from the sport back in 2017, just a few months after he stopped MMA legend Conor McGregor in the tenth round of their huge crossover showdown at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
