Terence Crawford has no doubt how a fantasy fight between heavyweights Tyson Fury and Mike Tyson plays out.
Crawford is one of the most decorated boxers in the sport today. The American switch-hitter has cleaned out two divisions – firstly he became the undisputed lightweight champion and then moved up and dominated the welterweight division.
A conclusive victory over unified belt holder Errol Spence in 2023 led him to undisputed hours in a second division, and he has since moved up to win a world title at 154 lbs.
That has made him a constant in the pound-for-pound discussions in which Fury was often featured across his career, and ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson was a part of back at the height of his own time in the sport.
As such, ‘Bud’ was asked by The Mayweather Channel about a mythical match-up between the two Tysons.
He sided with the American who knocked out his first 19 opponents inside six rounds and was the youngest ever man to become a heavyweight world champion at the age of just 20 – a record which still stands to this day.
“Mike Tyson! Man, he gonna get up under that boy, hit him with that hook, overhand right, body shots, then here come that uppercut.”
Despite being long retired, Tyson returned to the ring back in November aged 58 and he lost on points to Jake Paul, a man less than half his age.
Meanwhile Fury announced his retirement at the start of January after a second loss to Oleksandr Usyk but many hope he will renege on that once more in order to fight Anthony Joshua.
