Terence Crawford is just days away from the toughest test of his career as he gears up to face Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez.
Having already captured the undisputed championship at super-lightweight and welterweight respectively, ‘Bud’ Crawford is bidding to become the first male fighter in the history of the sport to achieve this feat in three separate weight classes.
With the stage set for their highly anticipated ‘super-fight’, rumours have actually began to circulate in recent days that the unbeaten American is having some trouble with an apparent shoulder injury.
Speaking to the media, Crawford appeared to quash these rumours as he claims people are ‘making stuff up’ ahead of his legacy defining clash with Canelo.
“Where I got a shoulder injury? I don’t know. I see people coming up with their own antics, you know ‘Terence Crawford got a shoulder injury, Terence Crawford out of shape, Terence Crawford’s slow’ … they coming up with all kinds of stuff.”
Whilst ‘Bud’ has his eyes set on writing his name into boxing history once again on Saturday, Canelo will undoubtedly prove to be the hardest test of his career having spent the last seven years dominating the super-middleweight division.
The 35-year-old from Guadalajara made the move up from 160lbs back in 2018 and has never tasted defeat in that division, becoming the undisputed champion twice in the process and defeating the likes of Caleb Plant, Jermell Charlo and Gennady Golovkin along the way.
