Youtube sensation turned professional fighter Jake Paul has set his sights on securing a world title shot in the near future.
The 28-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio made his boxing debut back in 2020 and has triumphed in all but one of his bouts, defeating the likes of Mike Tyson, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley and Nate Diaz to name a few.
His only professional defeat came against the unbeaten Tommy Fury, who beat ‘The Problem Child’ via split decision at the conclusion of their eight round cruiserweight showdown in Diriyah two years ago.
As Paul looks to advance towards a shot at a legitimate world title, pound-for-pound superstar Terence Crawford has had his say on whether ‘The Problem Child’ can actually achieve this feat.
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Crawford was asked if he believes Paul can become a world cruiserweight champion within the next two year period.
“It’s possible, it’s possible.
Listen man a lot of people write Jake off but Jake can punch with that right hand, he’s got a nice right hand.
I’ve gained a lot of respect for Jake Paul because he’s not a YouTuber that’s just boxing just to box he actually trains and actually wants to get better and actually has got better and is really putting his time, focus and energy into boxing so you got to respect that.”
Paul returns to the ring next month when he faces former WBC world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr at the Honda Center in Anaheim on Saturday June 28, in what will be the 13th outing of his controversial professional career.
