Terence Crawford Has No Doubt Who Wins Prime Manny Pacquiao vs Prime Floyd Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao faced each other in ‘The Fight of The Century’ a decade ago.

After years of speculation, the pound-for-pound greats locked horns on Saturday May 2 2015 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with the WBC, WBA and WBO welterweight titles on the line.

Despite the hype that had surrounded the highly anticipated showdown, the fight itself failed to live up to expectations and seemingly disappointed fans and pundits respectively. After an underwhelming 12-rounds, ‘Money’ Mayweather was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Many of the sport’s most prominent figures have predicted what they believe would have happened if Mayweather and Pacquiao had fought each other during their prime years. This includes Terence Crawford, who has had his say on the outcome of a prime Mayweather vs a prime Pacquiao.

Speaking to Club Shay Shay, ‘Bud’ Crawford didn’t hesitate to back countryman Mayweather to prevail against a prime version of ‘PacMan’.

“Floyd Mayweather. Floyd beat everybody.”

Crawford was then asked if he believes there is a single light-welterweight or welterweight in boxing history that could have beaten Mayweather.

“I don’t know but it’d be tough. Floyd man, that boy is the GOAT, that boy is bad.”

Mayweather remained unbeaten for the duration of his professional career, winning all 50 of his fights. As well as beating Pacquiao, the 48-year-old from Grand Rapids, Michigan also boasts victories over Oscar De La Hoya, Canelo Alvarez and Miguel Cotto.

He announced his retirement from boxing shortly after he defeated MMA legend Conor McGregor in August 2017, although he has had a handful of exhibition outings since then, facing the likes of Logan Paul, Tenshin Nasukawa and John Gotti III.
