In the opinions of many, Terence Crawford is the best fighter on the planet.
The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska has had an incredible career to date, remaining unbeaten through 41 professional contests and picking up world titles across four weight classes since his debut back in 2008.
‘Bud’ has also achieved undisputed champion status at both super-lightweight and welterweight during his tenure, becoming one of the few fighters in the history of the sport to achieve this feat in more than one weight division.
As he prepares for arguably the toughest test of his career against Canelo Alvarez later this year, Crawford has spoken out and revealed who he believes are the two greatest fighters of all time.
In an interview with Manouk Akopyan, ‘Bud’ named Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali as the two fighters who stand out from the rest in boxing’s long and storied history.
“I think Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali. I don’t think those spots will ever be taken.”
Ali and Robinson both had sensational professional careers, winning world titles on multiple occasions between them and leaving behind legacies that have stood the test of time for many years after their respective retirements.
Crawford himself has written his name into the sport’s history books throughout his tenure, proving time and time again that he will undoubtedly find his way into the ‘greatest of all time’ discussions after he draws the curtain on his career.
Victory over Canelo in September will see the 37-year-old become a five-weight world champion, with the prospect of capturing the undisputed super-middleweight title looming for the American superstar, as long as Canelo can defeat IBF champion William Scull on May 3.
