Terence Crawford has revealed the two fighters that he believes will get the better of lightweight star Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.
The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska has cemented himself as one of the greatest fighters on the planet, having already won world titles in four weight divisions as well as the undisputed championship at super lightweight and welterweight.
One fighter who will be looking to emulate the achievements of Crawford over the next few years is Davis, who has captured world titles in three weight classes so far. He is the current holder of the WBA lightweight title, which he has successfully defended several times.
In an interview with FightHype, Crawford addressed the potential route that stablemate Keyshawn Davis could take after becoming WBO lightweight champion, as he backs Davis as well as WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson to prevail against ‘Tank’.
“Whoever, I told Tank, Tank know what’s up. He know what he up against when he fight Shakur or Keyshawn. You know what I mean, he wanna fight these guys that everybody in the world know they ain’t gonna give him no fight.
“They not mentally there you know what I mean, they might have little skills here and there but mentally wise they not gonna be able to keep it up that whole fight. Them two guys right there is gonna be the ones that give him his first L.”
‘Tank’ returns to the ring on March 1 to defend his WBA crown against Lamont Roach. Victory over Roach could potentially lead to a unification bout against either Keyshawn Davis or Stevenson later in the year, with both fighters said to be interested in a showdown.
