Terence Crawford is yet to ever taste defeat in his professional career.

Crawford is a four-weight world champion from lightweight to super-welterweight, and he has also claimed undisputed honours at both 140lbs and 147lbs.

He has beaten fighters such as Errol Spence, Shawn Porter, Amir Khan, Kell Brook and most recently Israil Madrimov to affirm his position as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.

Next up for ‘Bud’ is an ambitious task as he steps up two weight divisions to 168lbs to challenge Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez for his undisputed super-middleweight crown.

The pair will meet at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday 13 September, with the event being broadcast live worldwide on Netflix.

Ahead of that bout, Crawford and Canelo have been taking part in their media duties, and it was during one of those interviews with Piers Morgan where ‘Bud’ revealed his boxing hero.

“Roy Jones Jr. He was unbeatable in his prime. He’s my boxing hero. He will always be my favourite of all time.”

Just like Crawford, Roy Jones Jr was a four-weight world champion, capturing gold at middleweight, super-middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight.

When he won the WBA heavyweight title in 2003, Jones Jr became the first former middleweight champion to win a heavyweight title in 106 years, whilst he was also the undisputed champion at light heavyweight from 1999 to 2002.

During his legendary career Jones Jr defeated fellow greats like Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Antonio Tarver and Felix Trinidad, and it was one of those men that he picked when naming the best fighter he ever faced.
