Terence Crawford has had his say on what might happen if Daniel Dubois gets his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

Crawford and Usyk have something in common in that both are pound-for-pound ranked fighters and have been undisputed champions in two different weight divisions.

It is a rare achievement, with bantamweight and super bantamweight ruler Naoya Inoue the only other man on the planet to have ever achieved that double.

As well as that, Usyk is also an Olympic Gold medalist and he remains unbeaten in his professional career. He had one moment of uncertainty back in the summer of 2023 however when he found himself down on the canvas after a body shot from Dubois in their first fight.

However, the referee quickly ruled it a low blow and he was given the maximum time to recover. He did so and went on to stop Dubois in the ninth round.

Since then, Dubois has picked up the IBF belt Usyk vacated and defended it against Anthony Joshua, so is now in a prime position to fight Usyk again as both men pursue undisputed honours.

Speaking to Seconds Out, Crawford was asked about Usyk and whether he favoured him to beat Dubois in a rematch.

“That’s my boy. Yes. Usyk [is the best heavyweight in the world]. He already won, I favour Usyk.”

This would be a huge fight between two in-form men. However, despite Usyk’s generational quality, there are many thinking Dubois would stand a better chance the second time round having built up plenty of confidence in his recent outings.
