Terence Crawford has revealed his current pound-for-pound top five list.
The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska has had a glittering professional career since making his debut way back in 2008.
‘Bud’ has already captured world titles across four-weight classes, as well as achieving undisputed champion status at both super lightweight and welterweight.
He has picked up a number of impressive victories during his tenure, defeating the likes of Errol Spence Jr, Israil Madrimov and Shawn Porter to name a few.
In what is undoubtedly the toughest test of his career, Crawford is now preparing to face fellow pound-for-pound star and unified super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez later this year.
Speaking on the Pound 4 Pound podcast, ‘Bud’ was asked to name his current top five pound-for-pound list, where he includes his upcoming opponent.
“We got me, we got [Naoya] Inoue, we got Canelo [Alvarez], we got [Oleksandr] Usyk.”
Crawford was then asked about Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and whether he believes the 30-year-old lightweight star deserves a spot on his list.
“We can put Tank in there.”
Crawford and Davis have been feuding across social media over the last few months, but the four-weight world champion has always recognised WBA Lightweight World Champion Davis’ skills. His inclusion on the list, however, comes as a surprise due to ‘Bud’s relationship with WBC Champion Shakur Stevenson.
Stevenson is a three-weight champion and has long chased a bout against ‘Tank.’ Despite Crawford leaving out his friend and training partner in his top five list, he has said publicly that he believes both Shakur and Keyshawn Davis beat the Baltimore puncher.
Taking to social media, Stevenson responded with no hard feelings.
No I’m not that’s his opinion, Regardless that’s my brotha 4 life 🦾

One way to settle the debate is a unification fight between the champions, however Gervonta Davis is currently tied up in talks for an immediate rematch against Lamont Roach Jr after a controversial draw.
