Terence Crawford Sends 3 Word Warning To Canelo After Providing Big Update On Negotiations

Terence Crawford has shared the latest on a potential showdown with Canelo Alvarez.

Crawford has been keen to secure a fight with Canelo for the past year, in a clash that would be one of the biggest in recent boxing memory.

‘Bud’ stepped up to 154lbs for his last fight and defeated Israil Madrimov to win the WBA super-welterweight title, but still remains two weight divisions away from unified super-middleweight champion Canelo.

Alvarez currently holds the WBC, WBA and WBO titles at 168lbs, but up until now hasn’t seemed as interested in a bout with Crawford as his rival did, previously stating that there is nothing for him to gain by facing a much smaller opponent.

It appears that the clash could be back on the table though, after Saudi chief Turki Al-Alshikh revealed that he wanted to start negotiations for the battle again.

Crawford has now given an update on the clash whilst talking in Dubai, and he fired a three word warning out that fans will be stunned by what they would see if it takes place.

“Everybody’s mouth dropping.”

He then spoke about just why he wants the fight.

“The strategy is me leaving with my hand raised. We shall see [if it happens]. We can’t say it’s not going to happen, but we can’t say that it is. Let’s just wait and see.

“I just want the opportunity to fight the best fighter of my generation that’s out there. He’s the most accomplished fighter in today’s sport of boxing other than myself. I would like to fight another great. If it happens it will be the biggest fight in the sport of boxing today.”

With Canelo expected to return to the ring in May, a decision on if he fights Crawford next should be expected soon.
