Terence Crawford has sent a scolding message out to two pound-for-pound greats in particular as he gears up to write the next chapter in his career.
The unbeaten 38-year-old from Omaha wrote his name into the boxing history books on September 13 when he defeated Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez to capture the undisputed super-middleweight championship in Las Vegas.
‘Bud’ became the first male fighter in boxing history to win an undisputed world championship in three separate divisions, a feat he has already accomplished at super-lightweight and welterweight respectively.
It was announced earlier this week however that Crawford is no longer the undisputed king at 168lbs after he was stripped of his WBC super-middleweight title for failing to pay the required sanctioning fees.
That has prompted ‘Bud’ to get vocal on social media in recent days, and a legendary duo are the latest to be in his crosshairs. Speaking on a social media post, Crawford sent a stern message out to both Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya.
“Oscar De La Hoya said Manny Pacquiao would have beat me because he got stopped by him. Look… I would have f**ked you Pacquiao and who ever you thought would have beat me the f**k up. Just because I’m responsible doesn’t mean sh*t.”
Crawford is currently taking some time away from the sport before he makes a decision on what could come next for him. It has been suggested that the pound-for-pound great could potentially make the move down to middleweight with the view to becoming a six-weight world champion.
