The controversial match-up between Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul is just weeks away from happening.

Reigning WBA lightweight champion ‘Tank’ Davis is set to face the YouTuber-turned-boxer in a ten round exhibition clash at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday November 14.

The announcement of their showdown sent shockwaves through the sport, with plenty of fans and analysts alike expressing their frustration towards both fighters throughout the build-up.

One man that will be keeping a close eye on the upcoming bout between Davis and Paul is reigning WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson, who has been targeting a showdown with ‘Tank’ for quite some time.

Speaking to TMZ, Stevenson didn’t hesitate to back Davis to get the victory over Paul, claiming that he expects his lightweight rival to ‘outbox’ the bigger man.

“Size will play some part in the fight. If I’m thinking like I’m Tank, I’m probably just gonna go out there and try to outbox him. Use my knowledge and IQ against him. I can see Tank just outboxing him and making it real easy.”

Whilst Stevenson appears to have made his mind up on what he believes will happen when Davis faces Paul next month, three-weight undisputed champion Terence Crawford has offered his own insight into the bout in an interview with The Full Send podcast, as he admits he is favouring ‘The Problem Child’ to cause the upset against Davis.

“Jake is too big for Tank. In reality he’s way too big for Tank. Tank is very talented, can punch hard and is explosive. Jake can punch with that right hand. I’ve seen it up close and personal. The dude is big, he’s not as slow as people think he is and he can punch.

“Honestly I think Jake by youth. There ain’t no winner, it’s an exhibition, but Jake is too big. If they really go at it, he’s too big. Tank isn’t going to be able to get in from that jab. Jake land one good punch on Tank it’s over with.”

it was revealed at a launch press conference last month that there will be a maximum weight limit of 195lbs in place for both fighters, a decision that is expected to play into the hands of Paul, who on average weighs in at a whopping 60 pounds heavier than ‘Tank’, as well as standing at eight inches taller than the three-weight world champion.
