Daniel Dubois will be a keen observer when Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have their rematch.

Fury and Usyk met back in May in the first undisputed heavyweight title fight for nearly 25 years, with Usyk claiming a split decision victory to walk away with all four world titles.

Due to the rematch with ‘The Gypsy King’, he had to relinquish the IBF belt due to being unable to meet his mandatory, and that has now allowed Dubois to claim the IBF strap.

He proved he was a worthy holder of the belt when he took on Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium in September, dropping him multiple times on his way to a stunning fifth round knockout victory.

Dubois is now looking forward to the rematch between Usyk and Fury on December 21, and he told Podlounge UK that he’s backing his countryman to pull off the win but is ready to face whoever comes out victorious.

“I’m still backing Fury [for the win].

I hope our man does it. Usyk is capable. Fury should jump on him and smother him. Fury is a slick boxer too, but it will be a great fight and I’ll be out there calling on to fight the winner.”

Dubois also revealed how he feels his last few fights have set him up to face the winner.

“The last few names have been leading me up to that point and I think I’m there now. When they fight, whoever wins I want them, unification, get another belt.”

Dubois may first have to take on Joshua in a rematch, and he has given a big update on that potential battle.
