Daniel Dubois could have to face Derek Chisora before going anywhere else in his career.
Dubois is the current IBF world champion and he was a man in top form in 2024. He ended 2023 with a breakout win over Jarrell Miller which gave him plenty of confidence going into fight with the well-rated Filip Hrgovic. That ended with a KO win for Dubois who came through plenty of heavy fire and then went into a defence of his newly acquired belt against former two-time champion Anthony Joshua.
Once again ‘DDD’ looked impressive and managed to beat ‘AJ’ by knockout in the fifth round having also having him down in the first.
He was set to make a voluntary defence against Joseph Parker in February but fell ill and is only now back in training. Despite him hoping to take on Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed clash, it now seems he will be ordered to defend his belt against ‘Del Boy.’
Speaking to Podlounge, he was asked how he felt about the fight compared to his top choices of Usyk, Parker of Joshua and called it a ‘good comeback fight.’
“After the main three guys I’m thinking about yeh, why not, Why not Chisora? I feel like that’s a good fight for me really. In my eyes, that’s a good come back fight. Let’s see.”
The popular London heavyweight Chisora is a veteran of 49 fights and has always said he hoped to bow out after 50, and a final world title shot against Dubois would seem like a fitting end.
