Daniel Dubois Names The One Heavyweight Who Would Beat Oleksandr Usyk ‘All Day’

Daniel Dubois is one of five heavyweights Oleksandr Usyk beat on his way to winning all four major titles in the division.

Following two impressive wins over Anthony Joshua to gain and then retain the WBA, WBO and IBF belts, Usyk’s next defence was against Dubois in Poland.

The champion hit the canvas in the fight but the shot was immediately ruled low. After taking his time to recover, he broke Dubois down and stopped him in the ninth round. In his next fight, the undefeated Ukrainian would beat Tyson Fury by split decision to snatch the final belt.

Whilst Dubois hasn’t made a firm prediction for the upcoming rematch between Usyk and Fury and he certainly fancies his own chances against the Ukrainian should he get a second crack at him, there’s one Hall of Fame fighter he would back to beat his former opponent entirely.

In a piece with Sky Sports, the young champion said Evander Holyfield comes out on top.

“Holyfield all day, man, come on!”

Holyfield and Usyk share a lineage no two other fighter can claim: both became undisputed at cruiserweight before doing the same one division up.

‘The Real Deal’ had wins over the likes of Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe and Buster Douglas on his way into the history books. He has said that Usyk reminds him of himself for more than just the similar journey, whilst the Ukrainian recently revealed that the pair talk about life and boxing regularly.

Whilst fantasy fights are always fun, Usyk has a real one ahead of him in Fury, who will be desperate to avenge his only career defeat.

Dubois returns to the ring next week to defend his new IBF World Heavyweight Title against Joshua.
