Terrence Crawford versus Jarron Ennis is one of the most intriguing fights that could be made in the sport right now.
Crawford is the former undisputed welterweight king having defeated his main rival Errol Spence Jr last July in a career defining performance.
He has not fought since but this week moves up to the 154 division for the first time to take on IWBA champion srael Madrimov in an attempt to win a world title in a fourth weight class.
However, Philly native Ennis has fast become a welterweight star in his own right and is the current IBF champion. Many would like to see the two come together at some point in the future.
Speaking to YSM Sports Media, former welterweight champion Danny Garcia was asked how ‘Boots’ measures up against the rest of the division and had plenty of confidence he would come out on top.
“I think he can beat them all.”
He was then asked if that included Crawford and he repeated the sentiment.
“I think he can beat them all.”
Finally, he gave his opinion of Ennis’s last performance in which he defended his IBF welterweight title with a TKO victory over David Avanesyan at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia back in mid-July.
“He did great. A+.”
Should Crawford come through Madrimov this weekend, clamour for the two to face-off will no doubt grow. Ennis has stated he would be happy to move up to super-welterweight if necessary to get the fight, while Crawford has also admitted it makes more sense than for him to fight Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez at 168lbs.
