Dave Allen has made his pick for the Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois undisputed fight having sparred both men.

The pair first fought back in August 2023 when Usyk was already a unified world champion and Dubois was still the hungry challenger.

Despite having Usyk down in round five, the referee ruled it low and gave Usyk plenty of time to recover. When the fight resumed, Usyk imposed himself and went on to stop ‘DDD’ in the ninth round.

After that, he twice fought Tyson Fury to become undisputed champion, then vacated the IBF to honour a Fury rematch in December last year. That allowed Dubois to be elevated to IBF champion after he stopped Filip Hrgovic, then defended the belt with a knockout of Anthony Joshua in his last fight back in September.

In July, he gets a shot at undisputed when he takes on Usyk once more at Wembley Stadium.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, ‘The White Rhino’ made his prediction for the fight and sided with the younger man.

“You know what, I’m calling for a Dubois win. I just think it’s about timing really. Usyk is nearing 40. Physically, he’s not a heavyweight. I really don’t think he’s a heavyweight. He could do cruiserweight still now. Daniel Dubois is getting better all the time, and I think now is the time for Daniel Dubois to beat Usyk.”

The winner will be in possession of all four major heavyweight belts but will have to soon begin mandatory defences against IBF man Derek Chisora and the WBO’s top-ranked fighter, Joseph Parker.
