Dave Allen has sparred plenty of rounds with both Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk and Fury are two of the best fighters in the plenty and proven greats at heavyweight. Both men were unbeaten going into their historic undisputed fight back in May, which was the first of its sort for nearly 25 years since Lennox Lewis was the last man to hold that honour.
It was an engaging contest in which both men had success but ultimately Usyk got the win on the cards at the conclusion of the 12th round having landed the best shot of the fight in the ninth.
Fury is now in camp working on avenging his first-ever loss, while Usyk is looking to defend the three of the four world titles still in his possession. He has already done that against Anthony Joshua, whom he also won the belts off in 2021, and Daniel Dubois, who now holds the IFB title after also beating Joshua.
Allen is a popular British heavyweight who has done rounds with both men and in a new post from Queensberry he revealed who he found better.
“[I sparred Usyk] on the last day on the Friday when he hit me with a left hand and to all intent and purpose he knocked me out. He’s a really nice man, I like him a lot.
I don’t think he’s as good as Tyson Fury though. Tyson Fury is the best boxer I’ve ever shared the ring with. I think Tyson Fury wins the fight. I would never pick against him. I thought he was going to win the first fight, I thought he was going to stop Usyk about halfway.”
Fury has indeed vowed to stop Usyk this time around while Allen himself fights on the undercard of the Fury and Usyk rematch against Johnny Fisher on December 21,
