Moses Itauma looks to add a significant name to his record in the form of Dillian Whyte.
Whyte is a former number one contender and world title challenger who has beaten the likes of Derek Chisora, Joseph Parker and Oscar Rivas. ‘The Bodysnatcher’ has come up short against Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, and has suffered inactivity at the top level in recent years.
Whyte also beat Dave Allen towards the beginning of his campaign, and the latter has weighed in on what might happen when his former foe faces unbeaten Moses Itauma.
Itauma is 12-0 with ten knockouts and is regarded by most as the heir to the heavyweight throne. Coming off a systematic third round stoppage of Mike Balogun and boasting his best win over Demsey McKean, facing Whyte is a good measuring stick of where he is at at 20-years-old.
Speaking on his own YouTube channel, Allen said he expects young Moses to pass the test with flying colours, dealing with Whyte, 37, inside two rounds.
“My early prediction would be an Itauma stoppage, in a couple of rounds as well. It’s all about the timing. Even the best Dillian Whyte would be a hard ask [for him] because Itauma is a real scary talent. They’re getting Whyte at the right time, he’s 37, not been in the ring for a long time. So I think Itauma will stop him pretty early.”
The pair will headline a card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on August 16, with the undercard featuring Nick Ball’s title defence against Sam Goodman, Anthony Cacace vs Ray Ford and another heavyweight attraction in Filip Hrgovic vs David Adeleye.
