Former heavyweight world champion David Haye is the latest to weigh in on Moses Ituama‘s chances against Anthony Joshua.
Itauma has very quickly become a star of the banner division. He is just 20-years-old but has already won all 13 of his professional fights, 11 of them by knockout, and nine of them within just the first two rounds.
Most recently, the big punching southpaw stepped up to share the ring with former world title challenger Dillian Whyte and again put on a clinical display, beating the Londoner before the end of the second minute.
Another man that was known for his massive power was Haye, who ended his career with 26 knockouts from his 28 victories.
Speaking to iFL TV, Haye was asked if Itauma could already beat Joshua.
“Yeah, I think he beats everybody. The only person is Usyk, the only person who has a chance against him is Usyk off the strength of that victory against Dillian Whyte. Sounds crazy, I know, sounds mental, but there’s no chinks in his game. I can’t see where anyone can penetrate. Everything’s just really clean. I don’t think I’ve seen that before.”
Joshua was once in a similar position in that he was ranked as one of the best in the world, and was quickly moving through the division.
He was last out in September last year when he was stopped by Daniel Dubois in five rounds. After almost 12 months out to recover from an elbow injury, ‘AJ’ is now looking to get back to action and have one last tilt at the top, having previously been a three-belt unified champion.
