Anthony Joshua has a big decision to make in his next fight.

Joshua’s career took a serious blow when he was knocked out in the fifth round by Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium in September.

It was the fourth loss of the two-time champion’s career after back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk along with his shock loss to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019.

‘AJ’ must now decide what to do next, whether to face Dubois in a rematch or turn his attention elsewhere, with one potential option a clash against Tyson Fury depending on how ‘The Gypsy King’ does in his second battle with Usyk in December.

Former British heavyweight champion David Price has chimed in to the debate, telling Seconds Out that Joshua should target the rematch with Dubois.

“That’s win-win for AJ because he has already been knocked out by him [Dubois].

If he goes straight into the rematch, the two outcomes are he wins and puts right the wrongs straight away which is great, or he loses again and gets knocked out again which has already happened anyway.

There will still be a Tyson Fury fight, there will still be a Deontay Wilder, there is still a Big Bang Zhang fight. So it’s win win for Anthony Joshua to take the rematch straight away. Absolute win win.”

It is expected that Joshua will wait until the outcome of the Fury and Usyk rematch before deciding his next move, and Fury has revealed if a clash with ‘AJ’ still interests him.
