David Price says there is just one man who could lure him back into the boxing ring.
Liverpudlian Price fought 32 times between 2009 and 2019 and won several belts, including holding the British and Commonwealth titles from 2012 to 2013, though he never quite made it to world champion.
He took on the likes of Dave Allen, Alexander Povetkin, Christian Hammer and, in his final fight, was stopped inside four by Derek Chisora. 20 of his 25 wins came by way of knockout and also picked up a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing in the super heavyweight category.
Speaking to Seconds Out, Price was first asked whether he might ever fight in the Bare Knuckle Championship.
“I got an offer. Someone messaged me on Instagram about it. I just ignored it, there’s no way I’d be doing that. I don’t need nor want to do that, no.”
He was then asked what might lure him back into the boxing ring and admitted there is one man he’d be keen to face.
“The only fight that would attract me to fight again would be if Tyson Fury got bored in a year or two and said let me fight David Price, but anything else, no, nothing.”
Fury is on the comeback trail himself. After more than a year out of action following his consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk, he is now back in camp and working towards a contest with Arslanbek Makmuhdov, with fans hoping that may eventually lead to the long-anticipated showdown with fellow Brit Anthony Joshua.
