Gervonta Davis has revealed if he would fight Jake Paul.
Davis is the reigning WBA lightweight champion and returns to the ring at the Barclays Center in New York in March to defend his title against Lamont Roach.
It will be his first fight since June, when he knocked out previously unbeaten Frank Martin in the eighth round to extend his record to 30-0.
A lot has happened in the boxing world since ‘Tank’ was last in the ring, most notably Paul’s controversial fight with Mike Tyson in November.
It saw Tyson return to the professional ring for the first time since 2005, but at 58-years-old he was unable to cope with his much younger opponent and Paul ran out a comfortable unanimous decision after eight two-minute rounds.
Paul has had a number of big names offer to fight him next following his win over Tyson, including undisputed light-heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev and IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois.
Davis has now revealed whether he would also be willing to meet Paul when he was asked by Curran Bhatia.
“Yeah. Tell him this is my callout. Jake Paul what up? What up Jake Paul?”
Despite Davis seemingly being interested in the fight, it seems highly unlikely that it would take place, due to ‘Tank’ currently fighting at 135lbs, and Paul weighing 227lbs for his fight with Tyson, nearly 100lbs heavier than Davis.
‘Tank’ also recently shocked fans when he revealed that he plans to retire at the end of 2025, naming the three fighters he plans to face before he hangs up the gloves, with Paul not one of them.
