A former rival of Gervonta Davis is willing to step in and face Jake Paul after his exhibition clash with ‘Tank’ was cancelled.

WBA world lightweight champion Davis had been scheduled to face Paul in a ten round exhibition bout at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday November 14.

Their controversial match-up has now been cancelled after it was revealed that ‘Tank’ Davis had found himself the subject of another domestic violence allegation, leaving ‘The Problem Child’ without an opponent.

It was confirmed in a statement released by Most Valuable Promotions that Paul’s return to the ring has now been delayed, with further news on a new opponent expected to be announced in due course.

One man who has put himself forward to face the former Youtube star in December is reigning WBA world welterweight champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, who was actually handed the first defeat of his professional career to Davis back in May 2022.

Speaking on social media, Romero says he would agree to a showdown with ‘The Problem Child’ as he claims he would stop the 28-year-old with just ‘one week of training’.

“On top of that I’m tired of Jake Paul and all these circus shows he’s doing so I guarantee every single one of you guys, in one week of training I would stop him and I will end all these Youtubers hype because they’re wasting our time in this sport because we want real fights. Why is he not fighting at cruiserweight? Why is he even wasting his time with a 135 pounder.”

Romero returned to action back in May he defeated countryman Ryan Garcia via unanimous decision to capture the WBA ‘regular’ welterweight title in arguably the best performance of his career to date.

The 30-year-old from Las Vegas was elevated to full WBA world champion back in August after former champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis vacated the title. He is expected to make the first defence of his grown in the early stages of next year.
