Gervonta Davis Performs U-Turn On Mega Fight: “I’m Not Doing It”

Gervonta Davis has made a shock U-turn on a potential ‘super fight’ with one man in particular.

The 30-year-old from Baltimore is set to return to the ring later this year as he gears up to face Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a ten round exhibition bout on Friday November 14 in Miami, Florida.

Aside from his upcoming clash with Paul, Davis has been on a collision course with fellow countryman and reigning WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson for a number of years, although a showdown between the duo is yet to come to fruition.

Previously speaking on the Cigar Talk Podcast, ‘Tank’ once revealed that Stevenson was one of the fighters that he expects to share the ring with in the future.

“Yeah he’s definitely one of them, he’s definitely one of them.”

Despite these claims, it appears that the three-weight world champion has now revealed that he has no intention of facing Stevenson at any point in the near future, as revealed in a recent social media post.

“No, I’ll be helping their whole side which I’m not doing! F**k up”

As he gears up to face ‘The Problem Child’ in their controversial match-up later this year, Davis recently issued a major update on his future as a professional, hinting that he will actually draw the curtain on his career after his clash with Paul.

The 30-year-old revealed on social media that he will announce his retirement from the sport in ‘8 weeks’, meaning that his bout with Paul looks set to be the final ever ring appearance for the hard-hitting American.
