Gervonta Davis Agrees To Huge Rematch: “Let’s Settle This”

Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia had one of the biggest fights of 2023.

‘Tank’ and ‘King Ry’ met at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in April last year, in a fight that was arguably the toughest test of both men’s respective careers up to that point.

Davis headed into the fight with an unbeaten record of 28-0 and was the reigning WBA lightweight champion, although the belt frustratingly wasn’t on the line due to the contest being held at a 136lb catchweight.

Garcia was also undefeated, with his record standing at 23-0 prior to the bout, but it turned out to be a much more one-sided contest than many expected.

‘Tank’ dominated the majority of the action, first scoring a knockdown in round two, before another one via a body shot in round seven, which proved to be the difference as ‘King Ry’ sat out the 10-count and handed Davis the knockout win.

Since that fight, Davis has claimed an eighth round knockout win over Frank Martin, while Garcia defeated Devin Haney by unanimous decision, but it was a bout marred in controversy after he missed weight and then failed a drugs test, with the result was changed to a no contest.

‘Tank’ is expected to return against Lamont Roach in early 2025, but that hasn’t stopped him from responding on social media when a fan claimed a rematch with Garcia wouldn’t happen.

“Yes it will.”

Garcia then responded himself, as he prepares to return to action in April 2025 after the conclusion of his ban following his positive test.

“Time to settle this the right way.”

Another fighter that has expressed an interest in fighting Garcia is current WBO super-lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez, but he has revealed the one major condition for it to happen.
