DAZN confirm their new UK monthly subscription price, and explain the reasons for the cost rise
DAZN today confirmed their new UK monthly subscription price of £6.99, around the cost many expected. This comes into effect from the end of September for existing subscribers and the stacked Liam Smith vs Anthony Fowler Liverpool show should be the first under the revised price point.
The news - representing a significant rise from the £1.99 introductory offer that covered Fight Camp and this weekend’s Josh Warrington card in Leeds among others - was met with a mixed reaction across social media. DAZN’s full statement is below:
Since DAZN’s launch in December 2020, our monthly subscription has been available at the introductory price of just £1.99. We’ve recently expanded our sports rights offering for DAZN subscribers with the addition of at least 16 Matchroom Boxing UK fight nights a year. New live sport, DAZN Originals programming and exclusive features will also be available on DAZN as we continue to expand our programming, improve our production standards and streaming quality.
DAZN is increasing the price of its monthly subscription to £7.99. For existing DAZN subscribers, the new monthly price of £7.99 will come into effect from 30 September 2021 unless cancelled.
If you signed up to DAZN via in-app purchases on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you will need to accept the new £7.99 monthly price to continue your DAZN subscription. You will receive further information via email from Apple or Google detailing how to accept the new DAZN pricing in advance of any changes to your account.
Any gift codes or voucher cards that have been credited to your account will remain valid and you will have access to DAZN for that period. If you cancel your subscription via the My Account section, no further payment will be deducted from your payment method.
