De Carolis Upsets Feigenbutz, Chisora And Gevor Victorious

Giovanni De Carolis, 24-6-(12) scored an upset 11th round tko win over Vincent Feigenbutz, 21-2-(19), to claim the vacant WBA super middleweight title at Baden Arena in Offenburg, Germany on Saturday.

Feigenbutz, the former WBA interim champ, had won a controversial decision against De Carolis last October, but this time De Carolis was a different fighter.

De Carolis was the busier for most of the fight before a combination of punches in the 11th round had Feigenbutz in sorts of trouble which prompted the referee to call off the fight after 0.32 of the 11th round.

On the same card British heavyweight Dereck Chisora, 25-5-(17), scored a routine second round stoppage win over Andras Csomor, 14-9-1-(12). It was Chisora’s third for new promoter Team Sauerland.

In a cruiserweight bout Noel Gevor, 20-0-(10) scored a 10 round points win over 39-year-old veteran Valery Brudov, 42-7-(28)..
