Oscar De La Hoya has once again taken aim at one of his boxing rivals.

Nobody has been safe from the wrath of the boxing icon in recent months, going after a number of big names, including Canelo Alvarez and Anthony Joshua.

He has now turned his attention to Devin Haney, the former undisputed lightweight champion who was last in action against Ryan Garcia in April.

Despite a worrying pre-fight build-up from Garcia, ‘King Ry’ upset the odds to beat Haney by unanimous decision, dropping his opponent three times along the way.

The result has since been changed to a no contest after Garcia failed a drugs test, but De La Hoya told Fight Hub TV that he feels Haney is past his best due to his performance.

“I believe Devin Haney is a shot fighter.”

De La Hoya then hit out at Haney for the law suit he has filed against Garcia, after suing him for battery, fraud, and breach of contract.

“We have to deal with this frivolous law suit that they slapped on us, but that’s all it is, it’s noise. How can you sue somebody that beat the cr*p out of you. It doesn’t make sense. What I would do is call that fighter out, get in the ring and beat his as*.”

Along with his criticism of Haney, De La Hoya also recently had plenty to say about one of his former opponents, demanding that his rival needs to ‘keep his name out of his mouth.’
