Oscar De La Hoya has shared his final verdict on the highly anticipated ‘super-fight’ between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

Mexican great Canelo will put his undisputed world super-middleweight championship on the line against ‘Bud’ Crawford at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas tomorrow night.

Boxing fans around the world have been eagerly awaiting the intriguing clash between two of the biggest names in the sport, with many even dubbing it as ‘The Fight Of The Century’ during the build-up.

History beckons for Crawford as a victory for the 37-year-old Omaha-native would see him become the first male fighter in boxing’s long history to win an undisputed championship in three weight classes, having previously achieved this at super-lightweight and welterweight.

One man who has had plenty to say in the build-up is legendary fighter-turned-promoter De La Hoya, who guided the career of Canelo during the early stages of the Mexican’s time in the paid ranks before a bitter fallout between the pair.

Speaking on social media, De La Hoya gave his final verdict on the ‘super-fight’ between Canelo and ‘Bud’, as he claims the American’s ‘heart’ could be his downfall and if Crawford decides to stand a trade then he ‘will go down’ if caught by Canelo.

“Bud Crawford, his downfall can be his heart, his downfall can be his abilities to stand in there with you and trade punches because if you get caught by Canelo’s punch, you’re going down, you’re gonna get knocked out.

So this fight I have it a close decision for Crawford if it goes to decision, and late knockout between the 7th and 10th round for Canelo.”

Canelo has proven himself to be a force throughout his professional career but his dominance during his campaign at 168lbs has set him apart from the rest.

The 35-year-old from Guadalajara has reigned as the undisputed champion on two occasions whilst defeating the likes of Gennady Golovkin, Jermell Charlo and Jaime Munguia along the way.
