Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are just hours away from facing off for the undisputed super-middleweight championship of the world. Heavyweight knockout artist has delivered his verdict on whether or not the fight could end inside the distance.

Canelo – who puts his four belts on the line – has never been dropped and rarely looked hurt in his campaign, which is approaching 70 bouts all in. He is bedded in at the 168lbs weight limit and has faced big punchers in the past.

Crawford moves up two divisions from his last outing at 154lbs. He has been hurt in the past, but, although he did touch the canvas on one occasion, it was ruled a slip and so has not been officially knocked down either. Despite putting on the weight well and being known as a physically imposing specimen, most feel he will have to deal with Canelo’s strength rather than the other way around.

Wilder, who is in attendance in Las Vegas for the bout, was asked by FightHype.com if the fight can end by KO.

“I think [they both] look good. It’s going to be a great fight. It’s going to be one of those fights where the fans win. It’s such a great event. Two great fighters. I call it a century fight.

“Most definitely [there can be a knockout.] It’s one of those fights, you don’t blink.”

As for picking a winner, the former long-reigning WBC Heavyweight World Champion has previously put his backing behind ‘Bud’ Crawford to make history as a three-division undisputed titleholder.

“It’s a great fight. I’m going to go with what I feel in my heart, I’m going with Crawford. I love the way he has a fighter’s lifestyle. You don’t hear too much about him doing crazy things, partying and all that. He has a fighter lifestyle. He’s ready to go.

“Canelo is a great fighter for sure but I think Crawford is going to show him a different style of things, being able to fight left and right. Going in there with the mentality he has, I love the demeanour and willingness that he has. The demeanour that I am the best and I’m going to show you, and you’re going to have to prove me wrong.”

Canelo and Crawford go toe-to-toe at the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas tonight, with the event being streamed live on Netflix.
