The Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford fight is edging ever closer.

Two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world will meet when Crawford steps up two weight divisions to challenge Canelo for his undisputed super-middleweight titles at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday 13 September.

Some of boxing’s biggest names have already made their predictions ahead of the fight, and now former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is the latest to share his thoughts.

Speaking to The Fighter’s Voice, Wilder revealed that he is backing Crawford to cause the upset and become undisputed in a third weight division after previously accomplishing it at super-lightweight and welterweight.

“It’s a great fight. I’m going to go with what I feel in my heart, I’m going with Crawford. I love the way he have a fighter’s lifestyle. You don’t hear too much about him doing crazy things, partying and all that. He has a fighter lifestyle. He’s ready to go.

“Canelo is a great fighter for sure but I think Crawford is going to show him a different style of things, being able to fight left and right. Going in there with the mentality he has, I love the demeanour and willingness that he has. The demeanour that I am the best and I’m going to show you, and you’re going to have to prove me wrong.”

Wilder recently returned to action himself with a seventh round stoppage win over Tyrell Herndon, with ‘The Bronze Bomber’ having lost four of his last five fights prior to that.

He now hopes to have put that poor run of form behind him, and had been offered a showdown with a fellow knockout artist for his next bout.
