Deontay Wilder has issued a five word message to Anthony Joshua ahead of a potential showdown between the heavyweight duo.
Wilder made his long-awaited return to action on Saturday night as he defeated veteran British heavyweight Derek Chisora via split decision at the conclusion of their clash at the O2 Arena in London.
‘The Bronze Bomber’ is now being linked with a potential match-up with long-term rival and two-time unified world heavyweight champion Joshua, who was in attendance for Wilder’s victory over Chisora.
Speaking to talkSPORT shortly after he was declared the winner, Wilder urged Joshua to ‘shut up or put up’ ahead of a future showdown between the hard-hitting duo.
“Hey baby. Now it’s time to shut up or put up … Hey I’m really ready, I’m back now. A healed Wilder is a dangerous Wilder baby.”
Wilder and ‘AJ’ have been linked with each other on multiple occasions over the last decade but a showdown between the duo is yet to come to fruition.
Joshua was last in action back in December when he produced a thunderous 6th round stoppage victory over Jake Paul during their controversial bout at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
The 36-year-old from Watford was involved in a tragic car accident that killed two of his close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, just ten days after his victory over Paul, but the former world heavyweight champion is being backed to make a return to action later this year.
