Heavyweights Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to run it back on December 21.

Their first match in May was the first four-belt undisputed fight in the division and it was a close back and forth which saw Usyk narrowly win on points after a conclusive 9th round in which Fury was given a standing count.

It was another demonstration of Usyk’s mental strength given that he appeared to be slipping behind in the fight up to that point.

Since the historic first contest, both men have admitted mistakes were made and that they can be better the second time around.

There was also plenty of discussion around the effectiveness of Fury’s corner because, at times, the messages from trainer SugarHill Steward, coach Andy Lee and father John seemed mixed. Despite that, it was recently confirmed he will be keeping the same team when the pair go at it again in Saudi Arabia.

ES News asked former heavyweight and current Deontay Wilder coach Malik Scott how he saw the rematch going and he didn’t hesitate to pick a repeat win for the Ukrainian.

“I go Usyk again. But in better fashion.”

It was pointed out to him that Fury claimed he only lost the first fight because he was thought it was too easy and lost focus, but that didn’t change Scott’s mind.

“Nah, I got Usyk in better fashion than last time.”

Speaking to Boxing News Scott went into more detail and predicted a stoppage win for the champion.

“Yeah [I think he gets the stoppage]. I thought this one was going to be a stoppage for Usyk but I just thought it was going to happen on cuts betwen 7 and 10, it didn’t happen on cuts it just nearly happened in a natural way.”

On one scorecard the first fight was called seven rounds to five in favour of Usyk and the man himself agreed with that card. Whether Scott thinks he can push on to stop Fury or just win on the cards more conclusively remains to be seen.
