A number of observers have commented – positively for a change – on the shape of Luis Ortiz as the Cuban has approached his big rematch with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder tonight. Looking almost chiselled, the challenger scaled his lightest weight in over four years at yesterday’s weigh-in.
Whether this translates to improved conditioning – a factor Tyson Fury trainer Ben Davison, among others, feels could be important – remains to be seen, but it appears Ortiz is taking this return appropriately seriously.
