After nearly a year of consideration, Derek Chisora has finally decided on his next opponent for his 50th professional fight.
Chisora was last in action in February 2025, when he dropped Otto Wallin twice on his way to a unanimous decision victory. That continued a good run of form for the Brit, having also claimed victories against Joe Joyce and Gerald Washington in recent times.
Prior to that, ‘Del Boy’ has twice unsuccessfully challenged for world honours, and has shared the ring with fighters such as Tyson Fury, Vitali Klitschko, Joseph Parker, Dillian Whyte and David Haye, in a career which started way back in February 2007.
Chisora has been linked to a number of different opponents for his upcoming 50th bout, and has now confirmed who that will be against.
Posting on social media, Chisora shared a clip of a video call with Deontay Wilder, stating that the contract is signed for a fight between the pair.
Wilder has been referred to as the hardest puncher in boxing history over the years, and it is clear to see why, as 43 of his 44 victories have come by knockout.
‘The Bronze Bomber’ was previously WBC heavyweight champion from 2015 to 2020, making 10 defences of his belt before losing his title to Fury.
The Chisora vs. Wilder event is expected to be promoted by Kalle Sauerland and take place in April, and despite promoter Frank Warren recently revealing to IFL TV that he still has a contract with Chisora, it seems that ‘Del Boy’ is confident it won’t affect the fight.
