Derek Chisora has always said he will bow out after his 50th fight.

‘Del Boy’ has become a hugely popular heavyweight. The outspoken star always lives up to his ‘war’ mantra in the ring and is rarely in anything less than an entertaining battle.

In recent times, the veteran has found some good form with wins over Joe Joyce, former Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua victim Otto Wallin, plus Gerald Washington.

He has now won 36 of his 49 contests, 23 by way of knockout and has shared the ring with world champions such as Fury, Vitali Klitschko and Oleksandr Usyk, though has never won a world title himself.

Chisora was strongly linked with a third fight with Dillian Whyte as his final contest, though negotiations back in October fell through.

Now, speaking to talkSPORT, Whyte’s manager Michael Ofo has put the heat back on Chisora.

“That’s a fight that Dillian wants, that is a fight that we want, and it’s a fight we are pushing for in the first quarter of next year. There is no hold up from our side, the pens are ready to sign that fight if the business is correct.

“If you look at Dillian’s career, he has fought the top guys of his era; he has never been afraid to fight anybody. And there is no reason why he would be scared to fight Derek Chisora, he has already beaten him twice.”

He then claimed the hold-up was on the side of ‘Del Boy.’

“So we know that the obstacle is Derek. We were willing to fight on December 13, but Derek didn’t want it. You would have to ask Derek why he didn’t want to fight. Dillian was ready to turn the gears up in training. It has nothing to do with Dillian and all to do with Derek.”

Last time out, Whyte was stopped inside one round by exciting young prospect Moses Itauma, though he did beat Chisora both by KO and on the scorecards in their previous two meetings.
