Derek Chisora Names The Best He’s Fought After Facing Fury, Haye, Klitschko and Usyk

Derek Chisora has faced a fine list of some of this era’s best heavyweights.

The all-action British favourite has had a total of 47 fights including a trilogy with Tyson Fury, he’s fought Dillian Whyte twice, Joe Parker twice, Oleksandr Usyk, David Price, David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko.

He has won 34 fights in all, 23 by knockout, and though he has never lifted a world title he has long been a top-ranked contender. Next time out, he takes on fellow Brit Joe Joyce on July 27 at the O2 Arena.

Ahead of that he was asked by talkSPORT Boxing about the best he ever faced and went with Usyk, who took on Chisora in his second-ever fight up at heavyweight back in 2020 and won on points.

“He just makes you work when you don’t want to work. When you want to take that quick breath, he’s on you, on you, on you. For me, my fight was great. We had the tactic of we have to win seven rounds and we can lose other rounds but it didn’t go our way.”

He was then asked about whether it was Usyk’s power or volume that didn’t most damage.

“Basically, he don’t knock you out with one shot. It’s like four of five combinations like we saw with Tyson. He bust Tyson’s nose and Tyson didn’t know what was going on. It’s hard to explain until you’re in the ring with him.”

Usyk became the first man to defeat Fury and capture all the heavyweight belts in the process. The two will renew their rivalries on December 21st when ‘The Gypsy King’ will be looking to avenge his only loss.
