Derek Chisora thinks there is one man that Moses Itauma would be best off fighting next.

Itauma has very quickly risen through the ranks in the last year or so. The 20-year-old British-Slovakian fighter had hoped to become the youngest ever world heavyweight champion by breaking Mike Tyson’s long-standing record and although that is not going to happen, he has still made big inroads with 13 fight, 11 KO wins and nine of them coming inside the first two rounds.

Last time out in August, he took on the teak-tough former world title challenger Dillain Whyte and dispatched him early, this time inside the first two minutes. He called out Oleksandr Usyk in the immediate aftermath, but many believe it is too soon for such a step up and that he has more learning to do.

Speaking to The Sun Sport, ‘Del Boy’ reeled off a list of names for Itauma before settling on the one he thinks is the most appropriate right now.

“Right now I think it would be good if he fights Baby Miller, Jared Anderson, [Filip]Hrgovic… who else?

“I’ll tell you what would be a good fight for Moses, I think it would be the best fight, Michael Hunter. That’s a good fight, cause he’s a mover. There is no reward, but he is learning, he’s moving.”

Hunter is 37 years old and has straddled the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. He fought and lost to Oleksandr Usyk back in 2017 and has two draws on his record with Alexandr Povetkin and Jerry Forrest, and famously beat Martin Bakole in 2018.

He has not fought since December 2024 when he knocked out the little-known Christian Larrondo Garcia, so he would not be the most live opponent for Itauma at this stage. A recent purse bid to face WBA Regular Champion Kubrat Pulev was won by veteran promoter Don King, though news on the bout has been scarce since.
