A fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Moses Itauma has been debated between boxing fans at length over the last few days.

That is because of Itauma’s latest victory, where the 20-year-old claimed a first round knockout win over Dillian Whyte in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, extending his unbeaten record to 13-0 in the process, 11 of those wins by stoppage.

Immediately after the fight, Itauma made it clear that he would be more than willing to step into the ring next with Usyk, who became undisputed heavyweight champion for the second time in July when he stopped Daniel Dubois in five rounds at Wembley Stadium.

One man who has weighed in on the potential Usyk vs. Itauma fight is veteran heavyweight Derek Chisora, who took on the Ukrainian back in October 2022 and was narrowly defeated on points.

Speaking to Ring Magazine, Chisora insisted that his countryman would have no chance in the fight.

“Usyk would blow the smoke out of him. Usyk would kill him.”

Chisora himself could prove to be an interesting option for Itauma, with ‘Del Boy’ currently searching for an opponent for his 50th and supposedly final professional bout.

The 41-year-old has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, claiming wins over Otto Wallin, Joe Joyce and Gerald Washington in his last three fights.

As for Usyk, it remains unlikely that Itauma would be next, with the undisputed champion instead ordered to defend against WBO mandatory challenger Joseph Parker next, though the Ukrainian has requested further time to negotiate due to injury.
