Joseph Parker looks set for a world title shot against Daniel Dubois, with an official announcement pending.

Dubois is the current IBF ruler and one of the form men in the division. In his three most recent fights he has put on career-best performances, firstly to stop Jarrell Miller in the final seconds of their 10-round war last December, then to come through heavy fire against Flip Hrgovic in June to once again get another early finish.

Most impressively of all, in September he blasted out former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua inside five rounds having knocked his man down three times.

Former WBO World Champion Parker is also in great form right now. In December last year, he impressively managed to he nullify the punching power of the once long-ruling WBC champion Deontay Wilder to come away with a points win.

Last time out in March of this year, the New Zealander trained by Andy Lee beat big Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang on points despite being put down twice.

Speaking on BoxNation about the potential world title match-up,Derek Chisora – who has lost to Parker twice – predicted an early win for ‘DDD’.

“I think Dubois wins cause I don’t think Joseph Parker’s got a strong enough chin. Daniel hits hard. Daniel hits hard. I see that fight, Daniel within five rounds. Five rounds, Daniel wins it.”

An announcement on the fight is expected imminently.

Chisora himself was set to fight against Miller next February, but a promotional dispute meant the American was withdrawn and former Joshua and Tyson Fury foe Otto Wallin stepped in instead.
