In the aftermath of his latest win, Fabio Wardley‘s chances against Oleksandr Usyk have been weighed up by Derek Chisora.

Chisora has sparred Wardley and has boxed 12 rounds with Usyk so he knows both men well. He predicted Wardley had the power to stop Joseph Parker this past weekend and that’s exactly what transpired.

Although he was down on all three judges’ cards late into the fight, he caught Parker in the 11th round and the former WBO champion never recovered and was stopped on his feet by the referee.

It was the first time Parker had lost since his stoppage defeat to Joe Joyce back in 2022, following two back-to-back wins over Chisora.

Speaking to BoxNation in the immediate aftermath to Wardley’s win, Chisora started by giving him his flowers.

“I said it. I knew that this f***ing kid is tough as nails. I spar him and I hit him and he keeps coming back. Fabio Wardley did amazing for himself and his family and I f***ing called it from day one. Fabio wins it.”

Chsiora was then asked if Wardley was ready for the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

“No, he won’t beat Usyk, Take some time. Have a fight with Daniel [Dubois].”

Before the fight, the thinking was that the winner of this one would indeed go into a fight with Usyk. Afterwards, Wardley called for it and his promoter Frank Warren has already said he wants to make it in March 2026.
