Devin Haney Reacts To Ryan Garica’s Supplements Testing Positive For Ostarine

Two supplements used by Ryan Garcia in the lead up to his victory over Devin Haney showed the presence of ostarine, the banned substance Garica tested positive for.

Garcia had a career best win when he defeated Haney by majority points decision after knocking his fellow American down three times during the contest. However, his victory lap was short lived after it was revealed he had failed two drugs tests, the day before and day of the fight.

The B-samples were tested and confirmed the initial findings, Garcia has always maintained his innocence, claiming contamination and even corruption.

According to the Sports Medicine Research and Testing Laboratory, a raspberry-lemonade flavored NutraBio SuperCarb and a Body Health strawberry-flavored amino-acid blend were the two products that returned positive for ostarine contamination.

Garcia’s lawyers released a statement, saying the news backed up what their client has always said – he never intentionally took a performance-enhancing drug.

“The test results from samples of two supplements declared by Ryan Garcia on VADA Doping Control Forms, signed on April 19th and 20th, have returned positive for Ostarine contamination.

This confirms what we have consistently maintained: Ryan was a victim of supplement contamination and has never intentionally used any banned or performance-enhancing substances.”

Haney, who suffered his first career defeat against Garcia, took to twitter to react to the reports.

“Yall don’t believe this cap right? Found somebody to blame.”

The The New York State Athletic Commission will have a hearing to decide on Garcia’s punishment and if the fight result should be overturned.
