Nate Diaz and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr have shared their thoughts on the controversial meeting between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul after both sharing the ring with ‘The Problem Child’.
Two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua is gearing up to face Paul over eight rounds at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday December 19, the latest high-profile boxing event to be shown exclusively on Netflix.
The controversial heavyweight match-up has sent shockwaves through the sport in recent weeks, with many even questioning the authenticity of the bout.
Having shared the ring with Paul back in 2023, former UFC superstar Diaz spoke out on social media and summed up his former rival’s chances of defeating Joshua later this month.
“Paul beats Joshua.”
‘The Problem Child’ was last in action on June 28 when he defeated former WBC world middleweight champion Chavez Jr via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their cruiserweight bout in California.
It appears the Mexican is in agreement with Diaz on the outcome of Paul’s clash with Joshua as he revealed in a social media post that he expects the 28-year-old to outpoint the British heavyweight star and defeat him via unanimous decision.
Paul was originally pencilled in to lock horns with WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis last month, but their exhibition contest was scrapped after ‘Tank’ was named in a civil lawsuit regarding domestic allegations.
Instead. ‘The Problem Child’ will step into the ring with a hard-hitting former world heavyweight champion who has promised to ‘break the face’ of the YouTube star on December 19.
