Featherweight Carlos “Chuko” Díaz went, 21-0-(10). Saturday night by scoring a 10 round unanimous decision win over Samuel “Pana” Gonzalez, 17-3-(11), at the Gimnasio Morelos de la Delegación Cuajimalpa in Mexico City.
Diaz experienced some resistance from Gonzalez in round five, but recovwered well to nick a 97-93 verdict on two judges cards while the third official made the fight even at 97-97 each.
On the undercard journeyman Francisco Gabriel Piña, 18-12-(5), caused an upset by scoring an eight round unanimous decision over two-time former world title challenger Miguel “Barreterito” Beltran in a lightweight bout The scores were 77-76, 77-75 twice.
