Daniel Dubois is confident he knows who will win when Dillian Whyte takes on Moses Itauma in August.

This fight rather came as a surprise to many. Whyte is a former world title challenger who has laboured in his last couple of fights after coming back from a long time out following a positive drug test, which he fought to prove was due to contamination.

Itauma meanwhile is a young and fast-rising star of the division. He is just 20-years-old but has already had 12 fights and won 11 of them by knockout.

Two of his last three fights have come against experienced pros Mariusz Wach and Demsey McKean, and he has stopped both inside the first two rounds.

For that reason, he is well regarded by many in the sport, including Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, who have both named him as a future world champion.

When asked by DAZN who would win between the two, Dubois – who faces Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed title this weekend – didn’t hesitate to back Itauma.

A win for Itauma would catapult him to the top of the division and put him in line for more huge fights and potentially a world title shot. For Whyte, who is now 37-years-old, only a win will do if he is to continue to get big name fights in future, having previously lost to the likes of Fury, Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin.

The bout will headline a Riyadh Season event on August 16 with Nick Ball defending his WBA featherweight title against Australia’s Sam Goodman in the chief-support slot.
